Drinking Water II

Drinking Water II

This water test detects all of the contaminants from our Drinking Water I test, along with carcinogens such as arsenic, cadmium and chromium.

Many of the analytes detected in this test occur naturally in our environment, yet can have a very adverse effect on us over time. They often have no odor, taste, or color, making it impossible to detect with the naked eye. Some of these chemicals are also used as pesticides, and in industrial processes. Improper handling can then lead to contamination from groundwater runoff. For example, inorganic arsenic is the most significant chemical contaminant in drinking water globally (World Health Organization).

If your water is contaminated with this bacteria you may experience the following:

  • Vomiting

  • Numbness/tingling of the extremities

  • Ulcers

  • Muscle cramps

Unfortunately, those listed are just the short term effects. Long term exposure to these contaminants may cause several types of cancer including skin, lung, intestinal and a few others.

If you feel testing your home's water might be right for you, or would like to learn more about our carcinogen testing package, contact us today. Our certified environmental specialists will help you decide if testing is something you should think about.

If it is, one of our certified sample technicians will come directly to your home to retrieve a sample. From there, it will be delivered to the lab for various testing. Testing methods include EPA 200.7, EPA 200.9, and several others.

Laboratory equipment will include the Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, and the Inductively Coupled Plasma Emission Spectrophotometer. These instruments will detect harmful contaminants at the lowest possible detection levels.
